"Time in Contention":
Set in 1880-81 in Contention City, Arizona, "Time in Contention" is a western love story set in a time of violence and turmoil. Told from the perspective of both Mollie and Bogardis, the story blends historical locations and figures with the lives of fictional characters. Mollie, a seemingly refined lady hiding from her past, has no illusions concerning her future. She has resigned herself to a life of loneliness. Bogardis, the mysterious stranger who rides into town, is also trying to avoid attention. His past haunts him as he attempts to put some of it to rest. Amid gunfire and bloodshed they must each confront the demons of their pasts. But when their eyes meet on a cold winter day, their lives will be changed forever.
"Time in Contention 2 - The Return from Prescott":
"Time in Contention 2" is the second book in the Time in Contention trilogy. This volume is also written in two-part chapters, with each of the two main characters sharing their views with the reader. Mollies version is spoken through the eyes of a compassionate young woman, spirited and courageous in an uncertain world. From the wild unsettled regions of 1880's southern Arizona, Mr. Bogardis tells his side of the story with the sharp raging keenness of a true western hero. Book two digs a little deeper in the events, introduces new, unforgettable characters and pulls the story closer to home. Blended together, the Time in Contention series is a beautiful love story full of passion and revenge, life and death. Their love prevailed.....where hope had almost failed.
Almost without exception, the woman's point of view has been ignored in western historical fiction. This was true even of the best authors, such as Louis L'Amour and Zane Grey. The movie Tombstone showed how fleshing out the roles of the wives of the Earps and Doc Holliday made the story fresh and timely. Cindy Smith and T.B. BUrton likewise have given us another look at both sides of the sexes in their continuation of Mollie and Bogardis' story in "Time in Contention 2". It lacks not for action, but it is the relationship that will keep readers coming back.

"Time in Contention 3 - The Trouble in Tombstone" :
The final installment in the series. In October, 1882, trouble was stirring in Tombstone, just ten miles from Contention City. The events of one day would change the lives of the Earps and Doc Holliday forever. Will Lily and Zach marry? Will Mollie and Bogardis marry? What will become of William Lawrence? These and other questions surrounding the first two books will be discovered as you read the final book in this series.
